One million square feet is a milestone. Delivering it ahead of schedule is a statement. At Prologis Legacy Point in Cypress, Texas, Kent Concrete’s Houston team is delivering its first million-square-foot building. The facility is part of a 350-acre industrial development planned for up to five million square feet.
The scale alone made this project significant. Add its highly visible location along Highway 290 and the opportunity to work with Harvey Cleary, and the team knew that performance would matter. And they were ready to prove themselves.
In total, the team delivered one million square feet of slabs across 20 pours in just 8 weeks, despite losing a full week to rain. When opportunities to accelerate presented themselves, crews hit the gas.
Ramping up when it matters
This level of production requires planning, experienced field leaders, equipment, and close coordination across the jobsite. From the GC to other trade contractors, we worked as one to keep the entire project moving. When conditions allowed the team to gain ground, the resources were ready to ramp up.
“This team understood what was in front of them, and they stepped up,” shares Project Manager Randy Yogachandra. “We want to stay busy, take care of our families and keep providing opportunities for the people on this team. I’m especially proud of our field teams. Their commitment and willingness to put in the long days made all the difference.”
That dedication is already creating the next opportunity. The Houston team was awarded two additional buildings at Legacy Point – the strongest measure of success yet.
