Kent Concrete’s Southeast Division earned the Golden Trowel Award from Face Construction Technologies. This international recognition honors contractors who deliver the flattest, most precisely constructed concrete floors in the world. Kent earned the award for its work on the Ross Distribution Center in Sophia, North Carolina.
The Golden Trowel recognizes craftsmanship and consistency that only a small group of contractors worldwide achieve. It reinforces Kent Concrete’s reputation for delivering when project requirements leave no room for error.
“This level of performance doesn’t happen by accident,” shared Division Manager Taylor Sittig. “It takes hours of planning, coordination, training, and collaboration—supported by the resources to do it right from the beginning. Our ability to bring those pieces together, from early planning through final execution, is what made this achievement possible.”
Our scope at Ross Distribution Center included 1.7 million SF of concrete, including major areas requiring an FM 80 super flat floor. This award is a credit to the people behind the work,” Sittig added. “We’re proud of the craftsmanship, but we’re just as proud of the preparation. That’s what sets our teams apart.”
The momentum continues. This same team also earned a Tilt-Up Achievement Award for Galen College of Nursing in October, adding another industry recognition to a standout year.
